Our Story

“Being the next best thing to home” is the core value that drives The Casco Inn. It’s the same mission its founder Linda Horton had in mind in 1986, with the goal of creating a welcoming environment to assist the local aging population transition into the next chapter of their lives with grace and dignity.

Having cared for many senior family members at home, and always having a fondness for the aging – which also moved her to complete her LPN nursing training – Horton ventured into building an assisted living facility. The Casco Inn was started in a historical building and attached barn that served as an inn for many years – converted into a 16-bed facility, later expanding to 30 beds. In 2000, Horton and her husband, William, created plans for a new and improved 39-bed facility, and residents moved into The Casco Inn’s current home on Roosevelt Avenue.

With a staff dedicated to meeting residents’ needs and supporting their individual goals, The Casco Inn provides services to assist with social, physical and spiritual needs in a homelike environment.

Residents are encouraged to bring personal items to help transform their new home into a space that is uniquely theirs. All are encouraged to make use of comfortable common areas, our charming dining room, and various outdoor areas on our expansive property, located near the shores of Sebago Lake.

Licensed personnel will assist with each resident’s carefully created individual plan of care. Three balanced, home-cooked meals, as well as snacks, are provided daily – along with on-site physician visits, laundry services, housekeeping assistance, medication management, beautician/barber services, and a progressive activity program that offers something of interest for all residents. We work closely with family and loved ones to ensure that all aspects of our residents’ needs are being met.

It is an honor to be considered and trusted in the care of your loved one. Welcome to The Casco Inn!
